Sethka Ru
Kharis Belt IV has thin atmosphere, high UV flux, and a thermal inversion between day and night that would kill an unprotected person in under an hour on either side. Sethka Ru was born there. He learned to read margins before he learned to read routes.
He is Serephine Dunekin. They are not humanoid — not a variation on the two-arms-two-legs-one-head plan, and not a human silhouette with alien features applied to it. Any account of Sethka that pictures a man of another colour has already gone wrong, and the record's own uniform standard assumes as much: the field shell is modular precisely because it is fitted per body plan rather than cut to one, and Serephine scouts are named among the reasons it had to be.
The physiology is built for sparse-signal environments: light-scattering eye membranes, water-conservative metabolism, respiratory efficiency that makes dense-atmosphere work manageable but never easy. In station atmosphere he wears filtration gear mostly for comfort, not survival.
He is at his best when visibility is long, interference is low, and a mission depends on positional discipline more than speed.
Character Notes
Sethka plans movement around exposure windows. He times routes by radiation profile, glare angle, and thermal shadow. Then he checks whether the social plan can survive the physical reality. It does not always.
Because his homeworld punished small navigation errors with lethal consequences, he is precise about margins and skeptical of mission briefs that assume stable conditions without measuring them first. Assume stable is not a methodology. It is a wish.
