Timeline
This is the official sequence: what happened, when it happened, and where the record still holds. Chapters may dispute motive, memory, or meaning. This timeline keeps to confirmed fact first.
The Life of Saint Aoife Set Down at Cill Aoife
At the request of his community, Brother Daire sets down the only surviving account of Aoife's vision at the thorn well — the earliest dated event on this timeline, and the document the Celtic Union would carry off Earth eleven centuries later.
Subsea Cable Warden Programme Established
A classified multinational coalition establishes the Subsea Cable Warden Programme — autonomous deep-ocean vehicles tasked with protecting Earth's global fibre-optic cable network. Not publicly acknowledged for 187 years.
United Space Industry Standards Formed
A global safety certification body merges with European and Asian standards organisations to form United Space Industry Standards, extending its mandate to all human-occupied off-world environments.
USC Founded; Solar System Safety Standards Authority Established
The United Space Consortium is founded from the Navigation and Trade Accords, and consolidates off-world safety certification bodies into the Solar System Safety Standards Authority — with United Space Industry Standards as its largest component.
The Three-Era Framework Codified
USC historical scholarship establishes the Three-Era Framework — comparing the 13th, 21st, and 29th centuries — as the canonical lens for understanding the transition from visible to invisible infrastructure, and the philosophical stakes of post-comprehension governance.
Eden's Fold Route Confirmed
The first unauthorised expedition from Eden Space Habitat traverses the natural fold route, confirming extrasolar transit. The MSC classifies the data.
Patience First Departs
A six-person crew takes the modified survey vessel Patience First past the confirmed transit point Constant Margin proved two years earlier, aiming to investigate the fold terminus itself. The ship does not return.
The Outer Stations Consolidation Hearing
A hearing convened to assess the Military Space Command's operational adequacy runs six months instead of three weeks, produces a formal finding of structural inadequacy — and one honestly volunteered sentence from General Krast that outruns every technical finding it also produces.
Star Rangers Charter Signed
The Star Rangers charter is signed under the Consolidation Accords, creating an independent boundary-operations body with authority to act without approval-chain delay.
First Drift Report Filed at Threshold Station
The first instrument drift report is filed at Threshold Station — two chronometers in Dock Seven disagree by forty seconds. The report is closed without resolution.
The Second Visit to the River Abbey
Elvira walks down to Brother Daire's abbey on the Boyne for the second time that year, and comes away with the Fellowship's own word for what she has been reading: the Overfold. Aldera registers it first.
Aldera Reaches the Marsh Causeway
Months after leaving Dún Rí, Aldera reaches the Marsh Causeway on Nessa's direction and begins logging the boundary zone alone, before Elvira ever arrives.
Elvira Arrives at the Marsh Causeway Outpost
Elvira arrives at the Marsh Causeway outpost and begins independent boundary monitoring after her predecessor departs under undisclosed circumstances.
The Aethelrock Rotation Dispute Begins
Rhiannon Ceridwen answers first contact from Star Rangers survey traffic two years ahead of her clan's turn at the Celtic Union seat, fracturing Aethelrock's Ridgemoot over whether the old rotation still holds.
Survey Team Arrives at Threshold Station
Galahad Thorne, Syra, and Rook-7 arrive at Threshold Station and are briefed on eleven years of instrument drift. The survey team is formed.
Causeway Convergence: Elvira, Galahad, and Aldera
Galahad, Elvira, and Aldera converge at the Marsh Causeway after Elvira's third failed ritual. The Obliger feeding signature is first identified.
A Survey Delegation Keeps a Crossing Night on Drithane
A Survey Corps follow-up team is billeted with the households of Gleann na gCaorach for a crossing night, under the Celtic Union's survey-hospitality arrangements. The delegation's manifest carries one courtesy animal, and nothing else that travelled with it.
The Drithle Crossing Instrumented
The Survey Corps returns to Drithane to instrument a crossing itself. The survey record states a ground-coupled infrasound signature for the drithle, confirmed by instrument and by a vessik together, and enters as an open question whether the valley's animals quiet on crossing nights because they feel it.
Eden's Register Gains a Second Cat
Eden Space Habitat's small-livestock register, which had carried one cat, gains a second. Zhulik enters the record as a note on the first cat's quarterly welfare return and has a line of his own by the end of the week; the conduct review opened against the first cat is withdrawn on the Superintendent's own note.
Eden's Compliance Framework Gains a Thirteenth Requirement
Twelve requirements since the Military Space Command's response to the Constant Margin transit of 2712, Eden's compliance framework gains a thirteenth, extending loose-article control to every deck area outside a registered berth or sealed store and citing the fold-proximate monitoring baseline. The detective bureau's evidence shelf is registered as a sealed store before anything on it is lost.
The Terrace Loop Fails, and the Eden Strawberry Is Lost
The loop chiller on Eden's six fruit terraces fails for three days and a water mould spreads through the shared loop. The Warden files root disease at sixty-eight in a hundred and asks for the terraces to be isolated; the Terrace Committee votes four to one to wait for the culture; the Mayor's review closes the loop on the fourth day, and the culture confirms on the fifth. Every Eden strawberry on the terraces dies. One plant on the children's row survives.
