Patience First Departs
2714 UCSD
Six crew members. A modified survey vessel. The same unauthorised corridor Constant Margin proved two years earlier — this time with a mission scope no expedition had yet attempted: proceeding past the confirmed transit point to investigate conditions at the fold terminus itself.
In 2714 UCSD, Patience First departs Eden Space Habitat using Dr. Ysolde Maren Pitch's navigation model, empirically confirmed for the corridor transit two years prior and never tested past it. The Military Space Command has issued no operational guidance in the intervening two years; its compliance framework governs paperwork at Eden, not conduct at an unmapped terminus.
Patience First does not return. Its fate remains unconfirmed for eighteen years.
Canon facts:
- Patience First carries six crew, twice Constant Margin's complement, reflecting its more ambitious mission scope.
- Dr. Pitch's navigation model was confirmed only for the corridor transit itself; nothing about the terminus had been measured by anyone before this expedition.
- The MSC's response to the disappearance: an inquiry, assigned to committee, noting the expedition was unauthorised and therefore beyond MSC liability.
- Patience First is found in 2732 UCSD. The crew are alive. What they encountered at the terminus is not part of this record.
