Multicoloured cosmic art of outer space

Lore

Start with the ground under the story: the laws, factions, civic systems, and cosmological pressures that make each choice matter. These articles step outside the narrative. Because of that, they may confirm truths the characters have not yet proved.

Cosmology

Selvage: The Seeded Edge of Wholecloth

A small plain room seen through a doorway at night: a pale table with an empty chair on the near side, and across from it a smooth, featureless blue-grey box the size of a travelling chest resting on a low slab, with a mug set on the table in front of it and a thread of warm-coloured steam rising. A dark window is behind, and the back of a second chair shows at the far end of the table.

The Shape of a Life

Four shallow dishes of dark stone in a row on a frosted grey bench, lit coldly from one side: a loose tangle of pale green glassy filament in the first, a flat disc rimmed with frost in the second, a single clear rounded drop in the third, and in the fourth a chip of grey rock crusted with grey-green growth and one small orange patch.

Cosmology
