Storyline Threads

A season number marks a position in the setting's timeline, not a shared protagonist. Fian Ilchruinne runs independent storylines in parallel — each thread below is a self-contained narrative with its own cast, gathering the seasons that carry it. See Seasons & Episodes to read chapter by chapter within a thread.

Season 0

Founding Era

The years that made the Star Rangers both necessary and possible, under the last stretch of Military Space Command rule - before the Charter, and before Threshold Station's drift had a name.

Season 1, Season 3, Season 5, Season 6, Season 7

Tissadelle Shepherd's Arc

The chronological spine of the published series - Cadet to Principal to Line Captain to the Last Stand, and what the Last Stand leaves behind - carried across Seasons 1, 3, 5, 6, and 7. Seasons 2 and 4 carry the storylines that don't run through her: Undercover Pets and Orbital Five-O.

Season 2

Undercover Pets

The Undercover Pets Detective Agency and the animals around it. Agent Barsik is a cat who reads the paperwork first. Bubochka is a rabbit still in training. And there is a small warm creature nobody can put a name to. Season 2, on Eden Space Habitat and the planet Drithane.

Season 4, Season 10

Orbital Five-O

The Governor's Investigative Task Force - Commander Kai Larsen closing the jurisdictional gap none of the five self-governing Compact habitats could close alone, answering to Governor Petra Voss directly and bypassing the Compact's slower consultative councils.

Season 9

Young Star Rangers

The Corps from the bottom rung - Cadets and Deputies in their first field postings, the Field Officers the Corps hands them to, and the year in which a raw Deputy learns what the rank most civilians mean by a Star Ranger actually does all day.

Season 11, Season 12

Below the Roof

The Pandoids of Fliade from inside the deep networks - a people who keep their record by speaking it, met for the first time on their own ground rather than the survey's, written for the child reader.

Season 13

The Infinite Castle and the Timeless Library

The Kingdom of the Five Islands from inside its own records - the court's chronicle recited under a tree, the Abbey's Accounting written in a hand that has never changed, and the Castle's people written in light - with a young keeper of each learning to hold one, and the survey's instruments at the edge of all three. Written for the young-adult reader.
