Elvira Arrives at the Marsh Causeway Outpost
2823 UCSD, Early Spring
Elvira takes up residence at the Marsh Causeway outpost in 2823 UCSD, Early Spring, following the departure of the previous occupant. The circumstances of that departure are not recorded in any file she has access to. The outpost log contains a single entry: predecessor departed; handover incomplete.
She begins independent boundary monitoring using methods developed through her own study. Within the first month she identifies two Etheric structures that appear nowhere in the previous occupant's records. She cannot determine whether the structures are new or whether the prior methods were simply inadequate to detect them.
She files no formal reports. The outpost is not formally integrated into the station survey network. Her work accumulates in isolation.
Canon fact: Elvira's three-year period of independent work at the causeway has generated more accurate boundary data than the station survey's eleven-year record for the same zone, though the two datasets have never been formally compared because no one has yet realised both exist.
