DETECTIVE AGENCY LOG — Aldera, Field Unit Assignment: Boundary Anomaly Observation, Marsh Causeway Sector Status: Active

Subject A (Elvira, unclassified, boundary-practitioner): failed ritual attempt, third this month. Pattern in the failures is consistent. She is not making technique errors. The target keeps moving. Whatever she is trying to close off is adaptive.

Subject B (Thorne, G., human, survey): arrived within twelve minutes of the failure. He knew it had failed before she told him. His vocabulary for the event is precise — layer underneath, pattern substrate. This is not standard survey training language.

Cross-reference: Rook-7's preliminary report from Threshold Station mentions a resonance pattern in the boundary-side structure. The frequency in that report and the frequency I can detect in the failed circle's residue are not the same, but they are related by a ratio of 3:7. I do not yet know what this means.

Regarding Elvira's identification of a "Court thing":

She is partially correct. Something at this site has the signature of a Court-Fae presence: it is feeding on the ambiguity of the failed rituals, on the loop of attempt-failure-attempt. Each failure Elvira does not fully understand feeds it more than a failure she understands. It wants her to keep trying without knowing why it keeps not working.

The correct response to a Court-Fae is clarity. Name what you know. Break the loop.

Recommendation: Thorne should tell Elvira everything the survey office has. The ambiguity is the food source. Ending it ends the feeding.

Filing. Will observe both subjects.
