A countersignature needs two documents and only one has come up the ring. On the fold-approach side, a Deputy is sent for the other; under the dock ring, three weeks earlier, the crew that wrote it argues about a single line. Two strands, one structure, and a note that belongs to nobody.

On the last days of the job, the youngest of a Chthonari crew hears a mount ring under more than it was left to carry, and the one who keeps the log decides what a record is for.
• S10E01C03 What It Hangs FromEden Space Habitat, the room the Compact lends Orbital Five-O, and the Fold-Approach WatchThe question the watch sent across the ring comes back as a referral, and the referral has a raven in it. In a borrowed room on the Compact side, a Deputy with no standing lays the task force's ledger beside a contractor's log and names the one thing both are about — and the thing turns out to be what the instruments hang from.
• S10E01C04 More, Not WhenEden Space Habitat, Dock Ring understructure and the Fold-Approach WatchThe watch asks its own instrument properly for the first time. Under the dock ring, at ring's night, a Deputy stands on the members a crew cut to be never looked at and watches a reference tell six agreeing instruments what they had been agreeing with. The number that comes back says how much. It does not say how long.
• S10E01C05 What Settles ItEden Space Habitat, Dock Ring understructure and the contractors' moduleThe job is certified, the snagging list is closed, and the crew is leaving. On the last shift, Tsikk asks the habitat's mind the question it has asked every day since the first, and the answer has changed. Nobody told the crew anything. Nobody needed to. Tekka, who said the reading settled it, has to say what settles it now.
• S10E01C06 By InvitationEden Space Habitat, Fold-Approach Watch and the Dock RingThe Starwarden's answer to the referral says noted, and the Deputy reads it as nothing happening until Smith shows the difference between a note kept and a note struck. Then a raven is flying the dock ring, banded and obvious, before any letter has arrived — and the Deputy learns what the one party with standing to recognise a seam does about it.
• S10E01C07 Record in OrderEden Space Habitat, Dock Ring understructure and the Fold-Approach WatchThe inspection the invitation named. Under the dock ring, with a raven on the gallery above, the Corps' engineers and the habitat's find what a schedule folded into itself three years ago, and agree one number. The record changes to say what the structure carries, and the watch does the thing it was built to do, which is sign. The Deputy, carrying a line across the ring for the last time, understands what the ninth day's form was.
