Maintenance Log Extract — Dock Seven Chronometers, Day 49
Category: Maintenance Records
THRESHOLD STATION — MAINTENANCE DIVISION SYSTEM: Dock Seven Chronometer Array (C-7A / C-7B) Date: 2815 UCSD, Late Summer, Day 49 Shift: Night rotation, 03:10 station time Logged by: Technician N. Isern
Work Order Reference
- Follow-up to recalibration directive issued under Incident Report 001.
- Last confirmed synchronized state: Day 47, post-recalibration cycle.
Observed Condition
The clocks split again before the shift was half over.
- C-7A readout: 03:10:41
- C-7B readout: 03:10:01
- Divergence: 40 seconds
- Drift direction: stable; no widening over eighteen-minute observation window.
Actions Performed
- Re-ran calibration sequence on both chronometers.
- Isolated C-7A and C-7B from local relay bus for independent timing checks.
- Re-seated panel bus coupling and repeated diagnostics.
- Compared values against station master clock and portable sync module.
Result
The discrepancy returned immediately after every recalibration pass. No hardware fault was identified in either unit. The pattern is repeatable and no longer matches ordinary instrument drift.
Escalation Note
Filed for manager review with recommendation to reopen Incident Report 001 and request external survey review for possible Boundary Zone coupling effects.
Archivist's note (S.), added during the 2826 UCSD archive pass: This entry is the earliest surviving maintenance proof that the Day 47 closure determination was operationally unsound.
