LOG ENTRY — Rook-7 Location: Threshold Station Transit Ring Incident Class: Emergency relocation

Event summary:

  • Trigger: Section G breach containment.
  • Constraint: trapped technician (Petrenko, hull-fitter) with oxygen failure risk.
  • Decision: single-jump harmonic relocation under direct visual lock.

Observed constraints confirmed:

  1. No stable lock available until Dr. Vale acquired a true optical lane through the emergency inspection port. Note: this port has appeared in six years of maintenance logs as decorative. It was not decorative today.
  2. Particle occlusion crossing the lane reduced lock confidence by 14% in real time.
  3. Transit pulse consumed 22% of local ring reserve in 1.8 seconds.

Medical observations:

  • Subject (Petrenko): survival achieved; disorientation and involuntary tremor present post-jump.
  • Operator (Dr. Vale): acute post-jump motor tremor, self-report consistent with prior neurological shock profile. She sat down before anyone suggested it. I have not observed her do this before an incident. I do not expect to observe it after a routine one either.

I am updating station advisory language.

Current recommendation: classify teleportation as a high-cost rescue tool, not routine movement — a tool used correctly today by someone willing to state, in front of her team lead, exactly what using it twice would cost.
