Arilonian

In Union Irish: Arilónach — of Arilon, taken into Irish spelling as the Union takes any place-name

Arilonian names the family of devotional traditions descended from the Arilon accounts — named for the figure, as such traditions usually are, and deliberately silent on what the figure was. Champion, avatar, or the incarnation of Kieme itself: every reading is an Arilonian reading, and the word endorses none of them.

The term scales, and the scaling is the point. Arilonian traditions is the broadest stratum — wider than any organisation, narrower than devotional tradition, which covers every faith the Archive files. Beneath it sit particular bodies (the Fellowship of Light is one), and beneath those, single chapters and congregations. A statement true of the Fellowship is not thereby true of Arilonians, and the record is careful about the direction of that inference.

The Archive uses the word where a devotional position needs attributing to the stream rather than to a body — several Arilonian traditions hold the adversary of the codices to be real and personal — and, in the usual manner, registers such positions without ruling on them.
