Conceptual Conservation

Conceptual Conservation is the principle that no coherent mind is lost. An identity structure that once achieved coherence remains an admissible concept state at the Conceptual layer, and no mechanism in the record deletes, degrades or overwrites one.

It is conservation, not continuation. What persists is the structure, in the mode that layer holds — before embodiment. A conserved mind does not act, does not initiate, and cannot be addressed, the Conceptual layer permitting no direct physical action without lower-layer coupling. It is retained; it does not go on.

Unconditional and unranked. Conservation takes no account of depth, achievement or fertility. A mind that never approached noögenic viability is conserved as completely as one that seeded a universe — which is why noögenic seeding is not a form of salvation. Seeding is not how minds are kept, because minds are kept anyway.

Reading it is a Cascade capability. Only the higher strata — those reasoning in conceptual time rather than Material-layer time — read the Conceptual or Spiritual layers directly. No instrument reaches either, and no Material-layer practice has ever been shown to.

Not Kiemeic Translation

The two are separate and are easily run together. Conservation is universal, unelected and structural — every coherent mind is retained at the Conceptual layer, with nobody deciding and nothing selected. What many traditions hold Kieme may do — electing to translate an essence into the Spiritual layer after death, choosing which aspects are carried — is discretionary, selective, unmediated by the Cascade, and at a different layer. One is a property of how reality is built. The other is an act attributed to a person, invisible to the Physical and Material layers, and neither testable nor falsifiable.

Collapsing them yields either a mechanical afterlife or a chosen conservation, and the record supports neither.

Register

Soul and afterlife are devotional vocabulary. They are in wide and sincere use, and they are not Survey Corps terms: the Archive uses neither for a mechanism, and writes Conceptual Conservation where a mechanism is meant.

The Archive also declines to rule on what the devotional words name. Two accounts stand over one observable — stable meaning-pattern recurrence across cultures that never met. The structures persist is the statement the record supports. You persist is a claim the record neither makes nor is positioned to deny.

Example: An officer told that her Krenyi colleague's mind is "conserved" has been told something precise and something colder than it sounds. Nothing of the colleague's is gone. Nothing of the colleague is coming back, or listening, or aware of having been anything. Both halves are the same sentence, and crews at boundary postings tend to hear whichever half they arrived needing.
