Naiad

In Union Irish: Naiad — borrowed, and avoided in Irish for the same reason as in English

Naiad refers to flow-anchored entities — beings whose existence is tied to the persistence of a specific physical or Etheric flow condition, such as a watercourse, a current, or a boundary gradient.

Naiads are not persons in the same sense as Krenyi. The formal species name Krenyi was adopted to prevent exactly this confusion: the Krenyi state-marker Nai (meaning "still relevant here") is unrelated to Naiad classification.

Naiads are vulnerable to boundary zone instability. Disruption of their anchoring flow can degrade their coherence rapidly.

Example: A Naiad anchored to a specific tidal channel can maintain coherence for centuries under stable conditions, then destabilise within hours if a boundary zone shift redirects or collapses that channel — a fragility with no equivalent among Krenyi, whose continuity does not depend on any single external flow.
