Quantum Space Harmonic Wave

In Union Irish: Tonn Armónach an Spáis Chandamaigh — the harmonic wave of quantum space

Quantum Space Harmonic Wave (pronounced: KWON-tum SPAYS har-MON-ik wayv) is one of the two canonical faster-than-light channels in the Grand Ensemble Multiverse.

Transit occurs by phase-locking to an admissible harmonic corridor and exiting through Concordant re-synchronisation. The corridor must be pre-admissible — not every harmonic path is lawful, and channel lock failure results in a lawful abort or forced drop-out rather than uncontrolled transit.

As interstellar infrastructure it is a medium-range method: averaged over a corridor's recurrence windows it advances a vessel about a light-year a day — enough to make interstellar traffic ordinary, and short of what the longest crossings need. It is a channel in its own right, unrelated to higher-dimensional folding; the two are not tiers of one system, and not even facts at the same tier of the Cosmic Cascade. The wave is specific to and defined within the local archecluster — the quantum kernel it rides is itself an archecluster-scoped fact, and corridor admissibility is the cluster's finer vocabulary within it, drawn from the local Archewright's archetypes — while folding is defined one tier higher, within the local formcluster.

It is a physics channel, not a magical pathway.

It shares its physics with teleportation, and almost nothing else. A relocation lock and a corridor phase-lock are held against the same harmonic field, which is why the constraints file treats them as one mechanism at two scales. What separates their safety records is gravity. A gradient is a continuous distortion of the field, so a jump made inside a well is bought with an enormous power draw and a measurable physiological cost; a vessel phase-locking in free fall or near it works in a field quiet enough that the corridor either resolves or does not. This is why interstellar transit is routine commercial infrastructure while a short jump on a station floor is a Medical Corps event — the longer passage is by far the safer one.

Example: A vessel attempting transit finds its target corridor is not pre-admissible — the phase lock fails to resolve. The channel does not tear open anyway; it forces a lawful abort, dropping the vessel back to its point of origin rather than permitting an uncontrolled jump.
